Susie has been a journalist since the age of 18, and her cuttings file includes stories on Islamist converts, Royal scandals, celebrity exclusives, crime, corruption and cock-ups.

She is a skilled interviewer and feature writer with a track record of hard-hitting despatches. Since 2006, she has led the campaign for official recognition of the men who served at Britain's Cold War nuclear tests and was nominated for the Paul Foot Award for Investigative Journalism. In 2022 she uncovered the Nuked Blood Scandal, a series of biological experiments on troops with the results unlawfully withheld from their medical files. Her evidence is now the basis for a police complaint and £5bn lawsuit.
